Thanks, Steve.
I've just talked to Marilee's nurse at Fairfax hospital. She's "stable" this morning and will undergo some tests later today. The nurse says it's fine for me to visit today. I plan to go around noon.

Steve and Janet,
Thank you for the updates on Marilee. I was quite worried about her when she didn't post on her blog for the last two days.
I am so glad she has such good friends close by (I'm on the other side of the country).
If you think it's appropriate, please tell her she is in my thoughts,
Doris |

Steve, thanks again for being the SF Group's guardian angel. I think Shadow was the name of Marilee's cat that died about a year ago. If I could access the old work e-mail files from home I could doublecheck. You posted the news to the SF Discussion group after getting it from Marilee's LJ.
Sarah is going to try to visit today, I hope she gets in. The visiting hours are extremely limited but healing takes a lot of energy.
The prayers are continuing and positive thoughts are also on their way. It looks like the quick intervention may have been of great help. Marilee has more active brain cells than most of the population, so with luck the neurons (or whatever) can create new patterns to facilitate speech. |

Steve,
Thank you for taking the time to not only keep us updated on Marilee's situation but also for taking the time to be sure her kitties are fed and cared for and most importantly for holding Marilee's hand.
I am clear across the country from her, but I want nothing more than to be able to let her know she is cared for. I cannot thank you enough for doing that.

Steve, I want to echo the others and say thank you for taking such good care of Marilee and her kitties. I'm sending positive thoughts for her. Having been through this before, her brain knows how, if it can just remember. Any updates on her will be very appreciated.

Thank you Steve for all you're doing for Marilee and for the updates. I'll keep my fingers crossed. She's always been incredibly resilient.

First of all it's terrific receiving thanks from everyone, however I believe the best intentions are present in all people and would hope my actions are typical of what anyone would do when confronted with such a situation as this. Certainly, everyone Marilee knows has expressed a tremendous outpouring of concern and offers of aid.
And also there are several other folks who have helped out and deserve thanks:
Luke, Marilee's upstairs neighbor who pointed me to Laura and also picked up Marilee's newspaper so it wouldn't look obvious she wasn't home.
Laura, Marilee's neighbor who will be caring for the kitties daily (that's real work!) and doing the other little things like checking the mail.
Another neighbor who also helped out Thursday night in cleaning up
Marilee's house (sorry- I was tired and didn't write your name down to help me remember- let me know and I'll edit this to properly credit you)
JanetMK for contacting me early offering support and making a visit to Marilee today (Janet-please start a new topic with your visit)
Susan from Rixo for also contacting me early with support, suggestions, spreading the word on other forums and a truly awesome offer.
Rick, Marilee's brother for being supportive of our actions and trusting a wide array of people he's never met or talked to before. And obviously for being a good brother too!
Stacy, Marilee's day nurse, who was extremely helpful Thursday to me, Laura and Rick, Marilee's brother. Thanks to her I was able to retrieve the house key. She was accessable every time I called and juggled several different folks calling in with a positive attitude.
Nicia (sp? Knee-sha), the night nurse who pulled out Marilee's cellphone and started calling around. I don't know who she reached but I never did get to talk to her to thank her.
Fairfax Hospital has a recognition process for all their care-givers and we'll certainly want to submit our appreciation to all the staff that are helping Marilee on the road to recovery.
I'll give a shout out to my fellow Central Library Science Fiction Book Discussion Group friends for their support of Marilee and myself as I muddled through the events on Thursday.
Mcpye, who inspired me to move the discussion and updates from the little comment area to this forum.
And thanks to all the Live Journal friends who responded to that little entry tucked down under the comments of Marilee's last entry.
I know there's more of you that should be thanked and other groups spreading the word to be acknowledged so feel free to consider yourself a caring human bean. _________________ Steve Johnsen

Thank you for keeping folks informed. I'll be thinking of and praying for Marilee, as I have been since I heard. Please add my name to the list of people who say hi, whenever she's up for hearing those lists.
(I still have a comment of hers to reply to, about making a bracelet for me after Mike died. If there's a time when she's tracking really well, and if you think it's appropriate, please feel free to pass along my thanks again to her for making the bracelet and sending it to me. It was an act of generosity and creativity and healing, and I am so grateful for it.)
