Folks, according to the LJ birthday thingy Marilee's birthday is Tuesday. Maybe we could all send cards to the hospital?

I snipped this from the thread as I thought this was a great idea of Cathy's. However the 10th is right around the corner and only local cards would make it in time (tho Marilee's time sense is probably closer to Dr Manhatten's from Watchmen right now).
Here's the hospital address if you want to mail something:
Inova Fairfax Hospital
3300 Gallows Road
Falls Church VA 22042
(I'll update with better delivery information shortly)
What I suggest and can do is to start a combo birthday greeting/ get well soon listing. I can print it out at work (I have a copy center that reports to me) in book form Tuesday morning and deliver it sometime later that day. That way folks can get their thoughts and messages to Marilee and maybe it'll become part of her reading therapy at the hospital.
So here's where Steve's dark side comes out- necessary restrictions:
1. Don't post "Great Idea! Tell her.."
Address your post directly to Marilee they way you want her to read it.
2. Don't respond to someone else's post in this thread. If you think it's inappropriate message me or better yet, message that person if possible.
3. Keep it brief. I won't dictate size, just use your own judgement and keep consideration for Marilee foremost.
4. Graphics are okay, but like your text, keep it appropriate in size, intensity and within decency standards your mother would approve (use grandmother if your mommy is a hellraiser). Also I'll try to print in color please avoid/minimize dark backgrounds, orange and browns.
Btw- I'll make sure to eliminate the ads.
5. Make sure to identify yourself! I can always add generic anonymous postings if I need to fluff up the page count
6. I suggest you don't include personal information that somebody else could use to make your life miserable i.e. phone numbers, addresses, where you eat lunch everyday. We can always pass on such contact information to Marilee once she's able to use it.
7. It would probably be easier for Marilee to read if you use the large or huge font sizes. I'll be printing this out on 11x17 turned to read like a 8 1/2 x 11 page size. So small text would probably induce frustration right now.
This is the large size "18" for comparison.
This is the huge size "24" for comparison.
8. Unless you're doing a one line Happy Birthday or Get Well, I suggest you type your message out in Word or whatever you use and spell check it before copying and pasting in the Birthday topic.
9. Finally - Don't post your message to Marilee here, post it here:

Feel free to comment in this thread.

For anyone having problems adding pictures, making the font bigger or adding color: here's your 30 second introduction to HTML
Your text has to be inside the brackets that appear when you select the font size or color or bold.
If you're adding a picture use the Img button
Otherwise
The easy way to make the fonts bigger:
Type your message
Use the left mouse button to select all of your text
Then select the font size
Hit preview to make sure you got it right
Do the same thing if you want color
Or Bold
Plan B= I will go through and make all the small posts at least 18 point
