My visit with Marilee today was very short, less than ten minutes. When I arrived a couple of hospital staffers were preparing to wheel her downstairs for some reason. Her brother was there and was going along with her. He'd been there for a couple of hours and I'm sure his visit pleased her a lot.

Marilee is making tremendous progress. She was animated and conversed freely during the short time I had with her. The words are coming back. She said she'd been up walking nine times already. She also said she was now really understanding what people were saying and had read a few words on a card she'd received.

The booklet of well wishes is very nicely printed on glossy paper. Great job, Steve.

This is so good to hear! Given her interests her reading ability is just central to her life, so I'm very relieved that it's starting to return.

That really is great news Janet! I was supposed to meet Rick today but they had been waiting since 10 for the doctors to perform a procedure on her. Rick said what it was but I'm not sure I heard him correctly as it sounded like an angioplasty but he also said they were going to look inside her head.

It sounds like they had one or two false starts as Rick called me at 2:45 and we had just started to talk when they came in for Marilee.

He did say he was impressed by her progress and she was able to read the birthday card he brought word for word to him. It really sounds positive! Maybe she will make the book discussion this month Very Happy

I'm so glad for this great news.

Do we know yet what her diagnosis and prognosis is? I'm guessing her brother is able to get that info.

I hope that her regular doctor(s) have been in touch with this hospital by now too. (And greatly appreciate the efforts of folks to pass info along.)
